Left SXSW for Barcamp

The next few panels at South by Southwest were a little too distant to what I am interested in, so I headed over to Barcamp Austin. A Barcamp is a conference/meetup that is run completely by the attendees. All presentations are by attendees and anyone can and should give one. We are experimenting with this for the 2007 NYSAIS Ed Tech Conference, so I figured I might as well learn by doing – we call it an “unconference.” Barcamp is all sponsored and totally free. Really amazing. More info on Barcamps here.

Current session is on coworking spaces, “cafe-like community/collaboration space for developers, writers and independents.” What a concept!
