    Here’s how it works:

    • You have an RSS reader on your computer (we will get into it more later)
    • You tell RSS reader to go out and get all your favorite websites (21apples, bbc.com, nytimes.com, slashdot.com, etc)
    • You open your RSS reader and read all of the latest news from there (no need to visit all of those websites, they come to you!)

    How does it really work?

    • many websites put out these “feeds” called *RSS* or *XML* feeds
    • you subscribe to these feeds with your RSS reader
    • your RSS reader looks at these feeds (say every 30 minutes) and delivers the most recent information to your RSS reader
